Chatham-Kent Veterinary Hospitals
Grief Companion Pre-Planning Services
As an additional resource, our clinics are pleased to offer a service called Grief Companion Pre-Planning.
This service is a scheduled appointment where a certified member of our team will sit with you to discuss end of life decisions, answer any questions you have and look into special requests for the day of euthanasia itself or any memorial pieces you are interested in. At this time, families will also be sent home with a grief package, a mix of helpful articles to navigate grief, as well as bucket list ideas, memorial ideas, and more.
In a similar fashion to a human funeral home, pre-planning provides us with the opportunity to make decisions with a clear head, and not while we are in the midst of grief. It allows us to think of questions we may not otherwise think of when put on the spot, and ultimately allows us the chance to alleviate any fears surrounding the procedure, prepare and make the experience a little less stressful when that day comes.
How should I get more information or ask for help?
Saying goodbye to our pets is never an easy decision and our team is honored to support you in any way we can as you navigate this difficult time. Please contact us to make an appointment or if you are looking for more information and resources to guide you through this process.
